As part of the UK wide Tile Doctor network, we clean and repair Victorian, Edwardian and period floors. Mainly encaustic, quarry and clay tiles. Antique Floor Cleaning & Restoration As part of Tile Doctor, the UK largest antique flooring network. We clean and restore mainly Victorian & Edwardian tiled floors. We also have a another site Architectural Decor selling antique & period door furniture. Victorian tiled hallway floor in a late 1800s Victorian property. We used a 4 stage cleaning process and an alkali cleaner to remove the ingrained dirt and grime. Finished with 3 coats of Tile Doctor Colour-Grow 1920s quarry tiles in a hallway and kitchen. Loads of marks from the previous carpet that was glued down. 2 stage deep clean with 17'' pads and a lot of using the smaller hand machine to get the marks from the carpet out. Finished with 2 coats of Tile Doctor Colour-Grow We even do the occasional non-flooring project. This is a porcelain tiled shower cubicle in a Victorian property. A fair bit of tile cleaning, re-colour all the grout, cut out and replace the sealant.

About Thanks for taking the time to find our website, I'm Paul, I have over 20 years experience in restoration & architectural reclamation. I've worked on projects from Victorian pub fittings to Georgian flagstone floors and pretty much everything in between. Based at a commercial workshop in E Bristol we now focus on restoring and refurbishing door furniture, hardware, doors and floors. We started restoring and cleaning Victorian & Edwardian tiled floors a few years ago and last year we joined the Tile Doctor network, the UK largest specialist in antique and period floors. We also have Architectural Decor , a site selling antique & period door furniture and hardware. It'll also give you an idea of our 'sympathetic' style of restoration. We restore and refurbish Victorian, Georgian, Edwardian and period internal and external doors. Period Doors We work on both internal and external period doors, most of what we do is in the workshop, we do occasionally do work on site. We do know a very skilled carpenter who's able to fit and adjust period doors. We also have a another site Architectural Decor selling antique & period door furniture. Original period door sourced by the customer from a rec yard, slightly bigger than the original. It actually came to us with lots of layers of coloured paint. We had it dip stripped, a few repairs, sanded, undercoated. We supplied and fitted all the door furniture. Had the door fitted and finally 2 coats of customers colour choice. A pair of pine master/slave front doors sourced by the customer, I'm pretty sure they're early 1900s & French. Turned out they were quite rotten on the bottoms. We cut it all out and replaced it with hardwood & quite a few general repairs. It hadn't been overly painted so just a good sanding on both sides. We spent a fair bit of time refurbishing the original door furniture, including a mechanism with a very unusual sprung mechanism. We then replaced some of the items that were missing, letterbox and handles Finally several coats of exterior grade undercoat and the customers colour choice, we also wrapped them for export. Edwardian pine vestibule door. We actually ended up hand stripping this one, finishing with several coats of wax & refurbishing the original door furniture.

We refurbish and restore Victorian and period hardware and door furniture. Antique Hardware Restoration Most of what we do is from the Georgian, Victorian & Edwardian periods. The most common hardware items we work are pillar and mixer taps, window furniture, servants boxes, bells and systems. We also have a another site Architectural Decor selling antique & period door furniture. Original 1920s/30s brass mixer lab taps. Re-seated both hot & cold, new washers, gaskets and ceramic indices (not shown in after picture). Pressure tested at modern mains pressure and finally polished. Not working early 1900s 4 bay servants call box. Stripped all the paint, replaced the flags, hinges & hardware. Eventually got it working and refinished the pine box Pair 1930s tall pillar taps. Re-seated, new washers & gaskets, tested at modern mains pressure & finally polished
